Advertising & editorial independence
Intelligent Home Buying is free. Here is exactly who pays for it, and the rules that keep that from shaping what we tell you.
In short: the site is free to use, with no account and no paywall. It is supported by advertising. Today, every advertiser is a company owned by the same group that publishes Intelligent Home Buying. Every ad is labelled. Ads do not decide what our guides conclude.
Who advertises here
All current advertising comes from affiliated companies under common ownership with this site. We do not sell ad space to outside companies, and we do not run third-party ad networks or tracking pixels from advertisers.
| Advertiser | What it is |
|---|---|
| PropTechUSA.ai | The property intelligence company behind PropData. |
| PropData | Parcel-level U.S. property data by REST API and MCP. |
| Local Home Buyers USA | Cash, partner-program and listing-net offer ranges for homeowners. |
| PropBetEdge | Live sports intelligence and prediction models. |
| PropSports | Sports data APIs across eight sports. |
| Intelligent Landlord | Landlord-tenant laws and rental market data for all 50 states. |
| IntelligentSTR | Short-term rental market data and regulations by state. |
Local Home Buyers USA buys houses, including for cash and as-is. Because our guides cover cash sales and as-is sales, that relationship matters, and it is why the next section exists.
The rules we follow
- Ads are labelled. Every ad unit says “Advertisement” or “From our network” and links to this page. Ads are visually separate from articles.
- Ads do not write or edit guides. Our guides describe the trade-offs of each option, including options none of our companies offer. Our seller guides explain how to compare a cash offer against listing with an agent and selling it yourself, and what to watch for with cash buyers.
- Ads do not choose what you read next. Related-story and recommendation lists are chosen by topic. Advertising is never an input.
- Ads stay out of the way. No pop-ups, interstitials, autoplay video, fake notifications or sticky ads covering content.
- Placement can be contextual, never deceptive. A property-data company may advertise next to an article about property data. Ads never appear inside a sentence, a table or a tool result, and never pretend to be editorial content.
- Sports advertising stays separate. PropBetEdge, a sports intelligence product, can appear in network placements on hub and tool pages with its 21+ and responsible-gambling notice. It does not appear inside articles or next to content about selling under financial pressure.
- Company content is labelled as such. If we publish a piece written by or for one of our companies, it is marked “Company perspective, not independent reporting,” is not shown in editorial feeds, and carries no ads.
What we measure
We count when an ad is seen and when it is clicked, so we can tell which placements are useful and which are noise. Those events record the ad, its position and the page path. They do not record your name, email, address or anything you type into our tools. See our privacy policy.
What “independent” means here
We used to describe the site as having no commercial relationships. Now that we run ads for our own companies, that would be misleading, so we do not say it. What we do say, and hold ourselves to: our editorial conclusions are our own, every number names its source, and we tell you when a company we are connected to is involved.
Questions or concerns
If an ad looks like it is influencing a guide, or a guide seems to favor one of our companies, tell us at editorial@intelligenthomebuying.com. Read our editorial standards for how we handle sources and corrections.
